Bagre at Bar Sindicato

An evening with catchy rythms and melodies pulled over from the deepest waters of Piduco, that happened in the mythical Sindicato Bar in Providencia. (See more photos here) The musical session started at 10:30, when Bagre took the controllers to give life to the first beats. Calling the attention of the attendants, that, almost like instict, begun to move their heads to the rythm. That’s how  it was tge first hour of music, beets and friends. Like a college break, the beatmaker talk some beers with Eggglub and Flacodiablo, all from Lunar Tapes. A label that dedicates to promote the Beat Makers in Santiago through tapes. At 12:30, due to the constant hotness provided by the Chilean summer, the attenedants took over the bar walkside at the front, dealing with the warm eveninng with the classical shops of Bar Sindicato. At this point of the night, the music once again took over, this time with Eggglub and Bagre joined in an improvised set, lasting 30 min aprox. Powerful drums and sometimes, squizoids, was the complement of Eggglub, while Bagre distorting the sounds, like an extraterrestrial tunes out of this world. Thanks Hommies! TCU Team.

Cajitas Rectangulares – Fiesta de Mentira (2015) By Oscar Aspillaga Peralta of Acople Records Cajitas Rectangulares is a band from Valparaiso that has been around for 8 years. I’ve been with them in many bar gigs, either in their hometown or Santiago, San Antonio, Concepción, Chillán and (hopefully) many more. In 2015 they released their first album, “Fiesta de Mentira” (Acople Records), which we could say it was a heavy work to do. Because the path of rock is not easy. With so much effort, Cajitas Rectangulares entered to Pancho Straub’s study (“La Voz de los 80”) and finally could see their music recorded in an album that sounds really good. I’m proud of them. Somehow, even in a sort of way, I feel part of their effort and I can properly say that I put my grain of sand, along with many people, so Fiesta de Mentira could be real. This 2016, also after heavy work to do, they were able to take a physical edition of the disc, which has a luxury design work and and a booklet with some stories of the hills of Valparaiso and what have been all these years of music.

Ser Humano · Tiro De Gracia (1997) By Andrés J. Barquín Principal Guitar of Llueven Animales In 97’, when I was 10 years old, a cousin tape me Ser Humano!!, from Tiro de Gracia. It was the first cassette that I had and maybe that’s what marked me so much. It was in my “personal” for months, I listened it several times and learned all the lyrics, very young and not knowing a lot of stuff. With bases plagued by very well used samples (who doesn’t remember instantly “El Juego Verdadero” whenever “Just The Two Of Us” from Bill Withers appears?) a lot of R&B, Soul, and Funk influences. Very African American music, adding the catchy phrases of Juan Sativo, Lenwadura and Zaturno, Ser Humano!! Is an album that runs pretty well from the start to the end. Despite Hip Hop doesn´t turn me crazy; this album won an important space in the musical history of my life and always reminders me a very good epoch.

We look for honest music, the kind of music that is not necessarily subjugated to the industry, or a long history, projections, among other things. Obviously we have our own favorite records. We would like to define Needle as “connoisseurs” ‘ of the vinyl industry. With a catalog of records very selected and varied at the same time. When you visit our two stores you can find a nice and chill panorama, where you can feel in the air the atmosphere of mixed music with that essence of wood, that embraces all the repertory of records. Feel free to take the necessary time to look, discover and amaze wih a variety of records coming from different times, places and styles. Within their repertory of Chilean music you can find 45 records. Here we left our 5 favorites: Pirotecnia Vol. 1 III • Föllakzoid El Gran Espíritu • Nueva Costa Doble A • Santos Dumont Fire Ride • Chicos de Nazca More info: Facebook • Webpage By: Pablo Pérez

Corazones · Los Prisioneros (1990) By Danilo Pérez. Principal Guitar of Meridiano de Zürich. Corazones • Los Prisioneros allowfullscreen=”allowfullscreen”>                     Definitely one of the best albums sold in 90’s, but valued even more in recent times. Many bands today are seeking those sounds and those catchy melodies that appear in each of its tracks, and make dance even the stiffest guys. For me, this album is extremely important, because it was the one who put in me the dream of forming a music band, although it is a completely different from the previous 3 albums, both in sound and themes, as well the name says is a record in which it resonates heartbreak, love, tragedy and all the torments afflicting the author. Corazones was the beginning of the single career of Jorge Gonzalez and the beginning of my love for music. I think that’s my favorite love song, it is reflected what really love is for me, “is a storm, love sucks” (Jorge Gonzalez in a live performance). I travel with the sounds to the depths of love and the most tragic of it. Corazones is my album and it always […]
