Dirty, electric and fast-paced sounds arriving from Valdivia, rescuing some of the shoegaze from the 90´s. Their guitars are getting mounted on melodies until they come together in a unique and dark ambient, tinted by lysergic drums and surrounding bass. Pretty much like the clouds coming from the south, their land, and unleashing a storm of sounds, so powerful as addictive, full with directed distortions. Order inside chaos, the perfect storm.  The career of Trementina has been as explosive as his music. Within two weeks from uploading a few songs, they were reached by the Japanese record Vinyl Junkie and from there no stop signs. Two good albums, Brilliant Noise (2013) and Almost Reach the Sun ( 2015) and several other live gigs has been the test that shows that doesn´t matter how much they have surprise us, they can do it over and over again. Shoegaze? Noise-rock? Dream pop? What’s the deal with so many labels? Its just music we love to love. Period. That’s how we feel about Chicago Toys, music filled with so many influences, gathering the best from them and making some new and original shit. Owned entirely by them. And man, it sounds really good. Either is riding your bike, kissing that special one or feeling lost in the translation of life, those unique moments can be shared with a song from these Chicago Toys. Fast and dreamy guitars, gazing voices, piercing bass and frantic drums. Have we mentioned that their melodies are as good as their technique? Well, now we said it. So feel lucky to be living in Chile these days, because doesn’t matter how ugly things get in this land, now you have a band that can wipe out those hopeless feelings with kick ass tunes and powerful riffs. Thanks to Nicolás Stein, Pablo Dinamarca and Francisco Gaete, thanks for their two EP’s “Chicago Toys” (2012) and “Color” (2014), thanks for their long duration album “Lost Niños” (2016) and thanks for making us rocking with their tunes. Platillo Volador

[This is not a drill. I repeat. This is not a drill. I repeat, stop whatever the hell you were doing and evacuate your homes immediately].  [This is an emergency]. [Different sightings have been reported from all over the country]. [I repeat. This is an emergency] Flying saucers have arisen from Valparaiso, invading our soundcloud, youtube, bandcamp and media. The message? A record of nine songs remembering forever these events: En el cielo a las 20:00. It’s Platillo Volador, my dear terrestrial friends and they are coming to get you. Making Lo Orozco, album EP debut in 2014 and releasing new album in 2016 (“En el cielo a las 20:00”), Platillo Volador is getting their first recognition as one of the bands with projection in the country. But who cares about that? Music so off of this planet that expectations and recognitions simply doesn’t matter. It’s too terrestrial, man. And that’s why we love this kind sighting, in the middle of nowhere, with the darkest night upon you and the bright light of Platillo Volador leaving you blind and unconscious for three days. What happened in between? You’ll never know. Psychedelic ensemble, noisey aggrupation, lysergic tripulation, called them whatever you […]

La Bestia de Gevaudan

Silent claws approaching slowly yo your throat. A heavy breathing right behind your neck. La Bestia de Gevaudan comes as one of the prominent bands in the chileans underground. A perfect demonstration of how a band can put together the most explosive rage of Hardcore and the most introvert side of Post Rock and Shoegaze. In such a natural way that reminds you so easily how resembled and complementary these influences are. Because the Beast is always looking for victims to strike out, with demential guitars, powerful drums, smashing bass and raging vocals. Transforming its human essence into a wild nature. Beware, people, because the beast is unleashed and it would not hesitate in tearing you to pieces. You’ve been warned, my friend. BUM, PAM, BUM!!! Onomatopoeias are the perfect kind of words you can use to describe what Tomas Perez does. A little bit of Buckethead over here, a little bit of Mr. Bungle over there. You can find many references in Tomas´s instrumental music, but the final result will always be one of a kind. A true original work made by a busy and restless mind. With three bands on his record (Cachoecabra, Octagon and Lerdo), being the opening show to Faith No More in 2009 with Lerdo and working between Santiago and Los Angeles; Tomas Perez adds to his career his solo debut Lavado de Cerebro in 2013. An album fueled by intricate structures, heavy riffs, drilling guitar solos and acoustic gems like Mecedora. Tomas Perez has never been afraid of making music beyond limits. His first album has obtained very good reviews and has even been sold in Amoeba Studios in California. What can we expect from Tomas Perez in the future? Insanity? Explosions? More onomatopoeias? Nobody knows, but surely is not gonna be boring. Web: Soundcloud.com tomasperez.cl By: Francisco Cifuentes.

Vaso de Leche by Vaso de Leche Vaso de Leche is a Santiago´s garage band rock. They has been cultivating his noise style more than 10 years ago. The band is currently made up by Carolina Ozaus on guitar and vocals, Tania Corvalán on bass and vocals, supported by a “drum machine” and musical collaborations. His first study material called “Primero” was released in 2005, after this, and after going through many lineup changes, the band enters in studio again in 2013 to record their second namesake material, which launched in october of that same year. The musical proposal of the band is a “noisy musical path”, in which saturated with intense rhythmic nuances that mix sounds cross the explosive atmosphere generated by a synth with torn guitars and a sweet and not be placed flute, melodies end up finding a form, thanks to the power of the rhythmic “Drum Machine”. Since 2005 the band is one of the organizers of the notorious musical Festival “FEMFEST”, the first music festival dedicated to women artists in Chile.
