Tortuganonima

If you are gonna make something original, make it from the heart. Simple as that. And Tortuganónima has become the living proof of that. Making exquisite music very well done, approaching to the progressive rock, being all that virtuous on instrumentation, without being obnoxious about it. That’s why we love every album these guys release. Every song is so well executed, but at the same time, so original in every chord. Almost cinematic, they have built this unstoppable road bike, going smoothly through the pacific coastline with the sun in your forehead, inviting us to a nostalgic trip and encountered feelings. Because it’s not only some random virtuosity, their music is that and more. Sensations and emotions clashing between compasses and rhythms. And a proposal like this… is worth the shot hearing. Lets put some ear to this blasting tunes and nostalgic melodies, because Tortuganónima  is the perfect band to move straight forward. Siempre llueve al atardecer

The songs of “Siempre llueve al atardecer” are like a forest: you do not know where it start, where it end or where you are at that moment. Its instruments create an atmosphere in which it is difficult to concentrate on something specific, and you can only enjoy it as a whole. A place as abstract as special. You get carried away by your changes of rhythm, by those voices that appear and disappear in the thick of the melodies, by those loud guitars that sometimes find calm, but immediately they break it again, by those bursts of battery that wrap your ears, that vertigo that grabs you from the inside and pushes you into the unknown. The first thing you feel when listening the first EP, with the same name as the band, is the 17:44 minutes are made short. Their first three songs accelerate you, make you run through that forest in search of a place to stay, without letting you stop. And then comes the fourth theme, “Siempre llueve al atardecer”, and then you just stop there. Because it feels too good. That forest that was unknown, transforms into familiar and becomes the one you want to […]

Platillo Volador

[This is not a drill. I repeat. This is not a drill. I repeat, stop whatever the hell you were doing and evacuate your homes immediately].  [This is an emergency]. [Different sightings have been reported from all over the country]. [I repeat. This is an emergency] Flying saucers have arisen from Valparaiso, invading our soundcloud, youtube, bandcamp and media. The message? A record of nine songs remembering forever these events: En el cielo a las 20:00. It’s Platillo Volador, my dear terrestrial friends and they are coming to get you. Making Lo Orozco, album EP debut in 2014 and releasing new album in 2016 (“En el cielo a las 20:00”), Platillo Volador is getting their first recognition as one of the bands with projection in the country. But who cares about that? Music so off of this planet that expectations and recognitions simply doesn’t matter. It’s too terrestrial, man. And that’s why we love this kind sighting, in the middle of nowhere, with the darkest night upon you and the bright light of Platillo Volador leaving you blind and unconscious for three days. What happened in between? You’ll never know. Psychedelic ensemble, noisey aggrupation, lysergic tripulation, called them whatever you […]

La Bestia de Gevaudan

Silent claws approaching slowly yo your throat. A heavy breathing right behind your neck. La Bestia de Gevaudan comes as one of the prominent bands in the chileans underground. A perfect demonstration of how a band can put together the most explosive rage of Hardcore and the most introvert side of Post Rock and Shoegaze. In such a natural way that reminds you so easily how resembled and complementary these influences are. Because the Beast is always looking for victims to strike out, with demential guitars, powerful drums, smashing bass and raging vocals. Transforming its human essence into a wild nature. Beware, people, because the beast is unleashed and it would not hesitate in tearing you to pieces. You’ve been warned, my friend. La Bestia de Gevaudan are: Diego Yañez on strings/programming/vocals Alonso Bustamante on drums Eduardo Román (live performances bass) Camino Lincolao (Synthesis/live visuals) Facebook / Bandcamp By Francisco Cifuentes Rivera

Is hard to make something different in a field where everyone is so deeply committed. Because that´s what present Post Rock in Chile is. Every song is a personal project that invites you to participate in an emotional bond. The exact elements that Llueven Animales get to accomplish in their first album, Llueven Animales (2015). An honest and well-crafted display of melancholia packed in six songs. And is that honesty what most distinguishes Llueven Animales from other post rock bands in the scene. Getting to commit with your audiences in a musical level, creating the right atmosphere and intense climaxes. And they sure know how to create climaxes, when every person in the band seems to be very well connected to each other. Llueven Animales if formed by Andrés J. Barquín on vocals and guitar, Nicolás Pozo and Pedro Romero on guitars Sebastián Rodríguez in bass and Víctor Escobedo on drums. An introspective look to the genre and an extroverted explosion to your feelings. The forecast for today is definitely, Llueven Animales. Bandcamp · Facebook By: Francisco Cifuentes.

As a premonition that gets ahead of time, in 2012 they took their first steps to the always honored, Espacio Filomena. A venue that has witnessed the birth of Meridiano de Zurich, one of the revelation bands on the Santiago underground scene.     Their gazing sound becomes the perfect soundtrack when you want to take a rocket and get out to the space. With piercing guitars, atmospheric melodies from the bass and drums that can make you wander quietly or be blown away in a second.
