There are places and sounds that are waiting for us. The routine of the cities pretend to generate a monotonous system that takes you and drags you. However, there is a bottle floating in this ocean, waiting to be found by those who are able to stop, watch and breathe. Then…you know what is established, you know what will happen and you know the “rules” of your routine. Maybe now is time to open that bottle and wonder with something new that has benn always waiting for you. Like a debborian invitation, The Dagger Complex comes to change your atmosphere, the way you look and hear your day. That’s right, just like your earplugs and a mid afternoon coffee are the perfect companion to start listening the path that TDC has for you. The march begins with Vibrant (also, the tittle to their EP), song that leaves more than a minute to a soft introduction and opens the door to your ears into the inside of these 6 songs that conforms this beautiful EP  of 21:31 duration. los chipitos de chapultepec

Five people on the room. One of them is a Peruvian chaman from the Amazonas. He says he has something that will cleanse our bodies and souls. Suddenly he pulls out a record from his chamanic purse, we look to each other… excited, very excited. We took the record and put it on the turntable. The chaman says…” beware, mi niño, once you press play, there’s no way back” What the hell he knows, it’s my turntable anyway. Who invited him to the party, eh? I press play…and everything changed. An estrange feeling filled me, from the tip of the toes to every hair in my head. Suddenly my shoulders are moving from right to left. What kind of flow is this? My mestizo blood urges me to keep dancing to this. “What is this?” I asked the chaman… It´s Chipitos de Chapultepec, boy…. Now shut up and dance. The playlist is running…you better be prepared for every song…this trip is on!!!! “Baila Teresa” – the first sip of the potion…strange and warm sparks on my guts… “Ay que calor” – the potion begins to make effect… hips moving on their own “Navegando por el Loa” – the lights are […]

Los Bárbara Blade

Barbara Blade was a character in a terrible commercial deodorant. Something like a Lara Croft shaving her armpits with a knife. So, when you hear the name of the band you understand from the beginning that the thing is not going to go down a very traditional way. Then you start to listen to them and you do not know if you do not understand anything or start to understand the name a little more. You feel as if you’ve gotten a handful of beats and put them in a mixer to the max. With you inside. And with some or another pill, probably not Vitamin C, as they named one of their songs. Electronic, tribal rhythms, cumbia, ragamuffin, anyway, no matter how you listen to them in your house, you are going to want to be in a disc drowned in a sea of bodies that shake, giving life. It’s difficult to cross the line of popular today. And it’s more difficult to go several more lines. But it is the only way to achieve a result as strange as unique. Exportable, importable, renewable and dance on the table. Bravo LBB, now I understand the world less but who […]

Maleza

Deconstrucción, Maleza’s first EP, is a ritual. Ayahuasca that’s not only seeking to look into the outside, but also into the inside of us, trying to connect us with the purity, with the earth, with the blood. Their psychedelic sounds, combined with alt rock and folk, stirring our head to mix all those preconceived ideas, because in order to see the truth surrounding us, we must have a clear mind, free of them. Rythms that lead us from one side to another, holding us. Beginning  a trance where the music bends with ambient sounds, where we are, nowhere. And lyrics entering in that space, already free and available to be contemplated, with texts trying to open our eyes like the “Puede Ser” ¿Cómo es qué, miles de años pueden confluir, /¿How is that, thousands of years can confluence, En esto que nadie volvería a vivir? / in this that no one would live again? Un grillete para controlar / A shackle to control Un grillete que puedes comprar / A shackle to buy Un grillete hecho para ti / A shackle made for you  Un grillete los/nos hará feliz. / A shackle will make you/us happy. And between that song, mini melodic and experimental tunes […]

Platillo Volador

[This is not a drill. I repeat. This is not a drill. I repeat, stop whatever the hell you were doing and evacuate your homes immediately].  [This is an emergency]. [Different sightings have been reported from all over the country]. [I repeat. This is an emergency] Flying saucers have arisen from Valparaiso, invading our soundcloud, youtube, bandcamp and media. The message? A record of nine songs remembering forever these events: En el cielo a las 20:00. It’s Platillo Volador, my dear terrestrial friends and they are coming to get you. Making Lo Orozco, album EP debut in 2014 and releasing new album in 2016 (“En el cielo a las 20:00”), Platillo Volador is getting their first recognition as one of the bands with projection in the country. But who cares about that? Music so off of this planet that expectations and recognitions simply doesn’t matter. It’s too terrestrial, man. And that’s why we love this kind sighting, in the middle of nowhere, with the darkest night upon you and the bright light of Platillo Volador leaving you blind and unconscious for three days. What happened in between? You’ll never know. Psychedelic ensemble, noisey aggrupation, lysergic tripulation, called them whatever you […]

James Numerin

What´s so big about psychedelia that lures so many people into a colorful whirlwind, where everyone just chills on sunny afternoons? Well, for start, it may depend of what kind of substances you have introduced in your body and mind. And second, bands like James Numerin. Because the groovy sensations of the sixties are still alive in James Numerin work, not as a tribute or as a modern versions of old tunes, but instead, a new and creative way of making classic rock without sounding classic. Interesting musical views, deep atmospheres and clear convictions that remind us sometimes to Los Jaivas or Aguaturbia. Welcome are the unconventional guitars, the stranded pianos and freaky synthesizers. In this boat, there is space for everyone. No discrimination among genres, but influences very well marked. We want more from James Numerin, a walking experience. More from that well made sound and caring melodies. But for now, we are thrilled to show you a piece of their work and what means to us. Magaly Fields

Magaly Fields is a psychedelic rock n roll that is here to blow your head off with fresh sounds and sharp guitars. When listening to Magaly Fields, a duo coming from Santiago, we can remember Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, Soledad Brothers and The Oh Sees, among others. Besides, if we add to this a little and spicy street blues, we get as a result a powerful sound, raw in its moment, but never ending in saturation. The constant relationship between love and hate that borns from guitar and drums, achieves his maximum splendor on each of their songs. And this makes them one of the few bands very atractive to listen on record or live. A constant transformation that takes you in a path with very little chances to go back. A path towards nirvana that  is shared with their fans in every gig. Chromatic Days, their first album, reflects the diversity of colors and contrasts printed on their work, an style cultivated since the dawn of time to the present days. Magaly Fields are: Tomas Stewart (guitar and vocals) and Diego Cifuentes (Drums) Facebook • Bandcamp By: Pablo Pérez
